No drivers license for some ‘Rastafarians’ – DVLA Western Region Director of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Emmanuel Narh has said, the Authority has stopped issuing driving license to Rastafarians who do not belong to any credible association or organization. According to him, Rastafarians who are unable to show reliable identity cards of their memberships to the various organizations will not be delivered licenses to permit them drive on Ghanaian roads. They have been identified as Manasseh Fumeh 29, a security man and Charles Appiah 38 unemployed. The two – 40-year-old Dauda Ibrahim alias Wayo and  Abdul Ganiu, 37 – were transferred on the orders of the Asokwa District Court on Wednesday.  Samuel Agyin  was exempted to remain in police custody instead of prisons because of his health condition status. C/R The Assin Fosu magistrate court, presided over by His Worship Djanie Korttey, has remanded three  " Satan Boys" into prison custody, Richmond Turkson  24 unemployed, Daniel Awuah 23 a Barber and Kwadwo Michael  alias  ( wo  sei  mere) 22 unemployed, to reappear before it on April 9, 2019. Prosecutor Inspector Gilbert Anyongo, told the court that,the three were arrested by the Assin Fosu police command on Saturday,March 23, 2019 when they were sharing their booty for allegedly succeeding in  defrauding a woman of about One- thousand seven hundred Ghana cedis( Ghc1,700 ) through mobile money. Stolen child’ rescued by Western Regional SWAT team The one-year-old boy who was kidnapped from his mother at the Takoradi Market Circle last week Friday has been found by the Western Regional SWAT Team. According to a source, he was found in Effiekuma Zongo in Takoradi around 11 pm on Monday. The woman who kidnapped the child and her accomplice, a man believed to be Togolese, have been arrested for further interrogation and prosecution. A CCTV camera being used by a cluster of banks around the area captured the woman moving away from the market with the child in her arms. The incident which happened at about 4:30 pm in front of the Market Circle Post Office was then reported to the Market Circle Police. The baby has since been sent to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for medical examination.

 Kenyan Science Teacher Peter Tabichi Wins Global Prize A science teacher from rural Kenya, who gives away most of his salary to support poorer pupils, has won a $1m prize (£760,000) for the world's best teacher. Peter Tabichi, a member of the Franciscan religious order, won the 2019 Global Teacher Prize. Brother Peter has been praised for his achievements in a deprived school with crowded classes and a few textbooks. He wants pupils to see "science is the way to go" for their futures. The award, announced in a ceremony in Dubai, recognises the "exceptional" teacher's commitment to pupils in a remote part of Kenya's Rift Valley.

FIRE GUTS 8 BEDROOM HOUSE IN BONO EAST REGION. There has been a fire outbreak at Kintampo- Dwenewoho in the Bono East Region of Ghana on Sunday, March 17,2019. The Fire broke out at about 12:20pm in the noon fully engulfing the 8 bedroom house. Some of the victims narrating the incident to Nana Kwasi Ampofo of J24NEWS GH, disclosed that, they saw a smoke coming out from one of the tenants kitchen suspecting a cooking oil on fire left unattended spark the fire. We couldn't take anything out, they added. All our unquantified belongings and money worth thousands of Ghana cedis gone. However, no casualties recorded. Personnel from Ghana National Fire Service arrived at the scene but everything has already burnt.

GHANA SIGNS €40M EU AGREEMENT TO PROMOTE INVESTMENT, JOB CREATION Ghana has signed a €40 million facility grant with the European Union (EU) aimed at promoting investments and job creation in the country. This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah today at a press briefing in Accra. The financing agreement which is the last programme to be signed from Ghana’s indicative allocation of 323 million Euros under the 11th European Development Fund and National Indicative Programme spans between 2014 and 2020. At least 19 Killed, Beira City Shut off as Tropical Cyclone Slams Mozambique. Tropical cyclone Idai battered central Mozambique on March 15 killing at least 19 people and cutting off more than half a million people in one of the country's largest cities Beira. State broadcaster Radio Mocambique, said "preliminary information points to 19 deaths and more than 70 injured in Sofala province as a result of cyclone Idai". Most of the deaths occurred in Beira — a port hub and capital of Sofala province — a city which has virtually been cut off after power lines crashed, the airport was shut and roads swamped by flooding. The flooding had already killed 66 people nationwide in days preceding the cyclone. "The hardest moment was overnight and this morning," provincial governor Alberto Mondlane told state radio referring to the time the cyclone barrelled through the province.
