GCAP fights Covid-19 with personal protective equipments.

Ghana Commercial Agricultural Project (GCAP) on Friday, April 24,2020 donated Personal Protective Equipments (PPE's) to help fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The team led by Mr. Osei Owusu Agyemang, Project Coordinator presented, Veronica buckets, nose masks, Soap and gallons of sanitisers to twenty - one (21)communities within the North Tongu District.The total amount spent on the PPEs is estimated to be 200,000 Ghana Cedis.
These includes Deikope , Torgorme, Essokope, Fulakope,Fodzoku, Kassa, Avakpoe,Azargornokope, Nakpoe and many other.
Speaking to the Media,Mr. Agyemang said "the about $34 million Kpong Left Bank Irrigation Project (KLBIP) at Torgorme in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region which is estimated to create a minimum of 12,000 direct jobs yearly when completed, will be of no benefit if all the people in the community die out of COVID-19 after completion of the project"
Hence the need to support the community which is also a priority of the Word Bank in any community they undertake a project.
According to Mr. Agyemang, Friday donation is a first phase and will take further steps to sensitized members of the communities on COVID-19 Pandemic.
Receiving the donation on behalf of Government to the Community members was the District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Richard Collins Arku Hon. In his remarks said, "the fight against Covid-19 has become a collective effort and together with Togbe Gidi IV, Omankrado of Torgorme Traditional Area espressed gratitude to GCAP.
