Man 38, killed over fish C/R

Kenneth Arhin 38,has met his untimely death after been stabbed by his friend Kweku Anu at Gomoa Kweikrom in the Central Region during a misunderstanding after the latter’s cat chewed fried fish(Nkyenam) belonging to the deceased.

In an interview with Gomoa Kweikrom Unit Committee Secretary Daniel Kofi Agyemang revealed that, the suspect’s cat went to the room of the deceased and chewed his fried fish following which he confronted the suspect to demand money [cost of the chewed fish].

A heated argument ensued between them leading to a scuffle. Before people could separate them, the suspect reached for an iron rod and stabbed the deceased killing him instantly.

Members of the Unit Committee subsequently arrested the suspect and handed him over to Ojobi District Police Command for prosecution.

The body of the deceased has been conveyed to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for preservation awaiting autopsy.

Financial Clearance to Employ Nurses Contrary to the claims by some nurses that there hasn’t been any recruitment like the president said in the State of the Nations Address, the Ministry of health in a statement said it had received clearance from the Ministry of Finance to recruit 14,254 nurse assistants who passed their exams in 2016 from Government institutions. The statement said the ministry “has received financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance to employ 14,254 nurse assistants (clinical and preventive) from government nursing training institutions and the names have been verified by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. This clearance took effect from 1st February, 2019.” The ministry of health has also issued the number of nurse assistants (clinical and preventive) for allocation to each agency for posting to their respective health facilities.
