NRDF COMMANDER WARNS LANDGUARDS.



Superintendent Abass Alimeyaw Kwarasey - Commanding Officer National Rapid Deployment Force (NRDF) of the Ghana Police Service, has sent a strong message to land guards and vigilante groups saying the Police will ramp up efforts to arrest the rising incidence of the activities of these miscreants in the coming days.

“Any act of land guards and people calling themselves vigilantes that will infringe upon the laws of the land shall be met with the full might of the Ghana Police Service”,


The activities of these land guards has left innocent citizens either maimed or brutally murdered by some of these Land guards, while the disturbing trend of vigilantism in the political scene has been a serious national security issue in the country.

 The Commanding Officer Supt.Abass, made this assertions during the 2018 WASSA  by the NRDF at its Headquaters in Accra  on Friday, 26 April 2019.

He gave an assurance that, the police would not relent in its efforts to clamp down on the activities of robbers and deviants in society.

“The police will continue to wage war on criminals and land guards in Accra and beyond in order to get rid of them,” he added.

Supt.Abass reiterated the service’s commitment to protect lives and properties and cautioned those who engaged the services of land guards to put an end to it." Desist or we shall  face you squarely " his words.

According to him, the WASSA is time for them to take stock, accounts for what went wrong or good and improve upon.

However, to him the year under review ,2018 was okay though one or two incidents happened but was able to bring it under control.

He used the opportunity to call for support such as Vehicles, Riots Control gadgets and the likes to help them discharge their duties effectively.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion includes ACP/Dr/Sayibu Pabi Gariba in Charge of National Operations Ghana Police Service,
 C/Supt/Mr. Theodore Alormenu -National SWAT Commander Ghana Police Service.

Above all Armed Forces Band was at the occasion where beautiful African melodies  and  tunes were played to the success of the function.

RAINFALL CAUSED HAVOC AT ADANSI NORTH DISTRICT, A/R. Torrential rains that fell on Saturday February 2, 2019. at about 5:30am has cause a lot of havoc in the Adansi North District. The rains destroyed properties worth thousands of cedis  which includes School, Poultry farms of which  about four hundred and fifty (450) poultry birds were killed. According to, Ashanti Regional National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Coordinator,Kwabena Nsenkyire, who visited the scene said, no casualty was recorded,however, about 700 people were affected.
