MANASSEH AWUNI AND MULTIMEDIA SWERVES COURT ON DE EYE GROUP CASE:
De Eye group an alleged militia group have sued Multimedia Group and investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni.
Manasseh and his Joy News team aired a exposé which suggested that De-Eye group were training individuals as militia for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The NPP and the group have all denied the claims and this has developed into a legal battle as they have dragged Manasseh and Multimedia Group to the court.
A writ of summon issued by the High Court commanded both Manasseh and Multimedia to to act within eight days or face judgement in their absence, this is on the first hearing of the case.
Portions of the writ read " A declaration that the 1st Defendant's publication on Joy TV that the Plaintiff, De-Eye Group Limited is operating a militia group in the heart of the nation with the complicity of the New Patriotic Party administration is slanderous and defamatory of the Plaintiff and same was made without reasonable, just or probable cause".
However, sitting on the case in same court today in Accra on Friday, May 3 , 2019.
Manesseh and Multimedia did not show up in court and another 10 days has been given to "De Eye Group" to locate Manasseh and serve him.

Meanwhile, lawyer for " De Eye Group " Gary Nimako and Nanaba Bayin Wireko Addo a.k.a "Chooman" was present at the court today.
