Kwafokrom-Apedwa Junction Dual Carriage Project Kicks Off

The China International Water and Electric Corporation (CWE) has begun the construction of the second lane of the 32-kilometer Kwafokrom-Apedwa Junction section of the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Eastern Region.

The construction, which began the last two months, is expected to dualize the road.

The Minister for Roads & Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, cut the sod in October last year at Suhum New Station for the commencement of the GH¢333 million project.

The Road Minister pointed out that the Accra-Kumasi dual carriageway was scheduled to be completed within 36 months after former President Agyekum Kufuor cut the sod in 2008; however, the project is yet to be completed.

Meanwhile, Frederick Opare-Ansah, MP for Suhum Constituency, under whose jurisdiction the project is also taking place, has commended the government for its determination to complete the project after 10 years of sod-cutting.

NO CAUSE FOR ALARM ON CORONAVIRUS SUSPECTED CASES: DR. BADU SARKODIE.

Dr. Badu Sarkodie, Director Public Health of Ghana Health Service has called on Ghanaians to stay calm on suspected Coronavirus in Ghana. Speaking to Oman news on Thursday, Dr. Sarkodie disclosed that, out of four suspected cases recorded in the country so far, all prove negative. Particularly on the Chinese and Argentine nationals suspected cases at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Samples has been taken to Nuguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and the results will be ready by close of Thursday.
