On Saturday, February 9, 2019. J24 NEWS GH, published a story of one Police Inspector   Akakpo and his accomplice's Landguards, who were arrested by the Gomoa Nyanyano Police in the Central Region of Ghana.

 In a quest for an update of the story, at Press Briefing on 'Security Situation in the Country' at Police Headquarters in Accra.

The Inspector General Of Police, Mr. David Asante Apeatu, said" The Nyanyano case has not brought to my attention, but I have taken note of that and will make sure it is investigated "

Our earlier check on the story was that, the Police Inspector was cautioned and ask to go, now that it has gotten to the attention of the IGP, let's see how it fold's.


THE STORY EARLIER:


The Gomoa 'Nyanyano' Police Command in the Central Region of Ghana, have in their custody a police Inspector who is a 'landguard' i.e unlawful occupier of land, local term used.
 ( a group of people or someone who protects lands with dangerous weapons illegally) with his accomplices.

The Police Inspector whose name was given as Obed Akakpo, is  believe operates from the Greater Accra Region and went all the way to Central Region with his landguards friends to extort money from people.

However, luck eluded him and he was caught in action with his uniform and  a gun.

They were in Ford Explorer car with registration number GX 2273-12.

They were arrested by the Nyanyano police patrol team in a battle.

When J24 NEWS GH  , visited Nyanyano police station for detailed information, the police command said they can not comment on the issue for now but confirmed the story is true.

THEY SHALL BE PROCESSED FOR COURT SOON,  POLICE SAID.
