RAINFALL CAUSED HAVOC AT ADANSI NORTH DISTRICT, A/R.
Torrential rains that fell on Saturday February 2, 2019. at about 5:30am has cause a lot of havoc in the Adansi North District.
The rains destroyed properties worth thousands of cedis which includes School, Poultry farms of which about four hundred and fifty (450) poultry birds were killed.
According to, Ashanti Regional National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Coordinator,Kwabena Nsenkyire, who visited the scene said, no casualty was recorded,however, about 700 people were affected.
J24 NEWS GH, speaking to Hon. Eric Kwaku Kusi , District Chief Executive for Adansi North, he explained that" Buabeng D/A Primary School at Adansi Dompoase was brought down as a result of the rains, other affected areas includes Old Edubiase and Anyinabrem all in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.
This making it difficult for students in Buabeng D/A Primary 1&2 to have a place to learn, for the mean time, they are using the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Laboratory which belongs to the Junior High School (JHS).
This practice has also makes it difficult for the JHS students to access the laboratory when is time for practicals.
Hon. Kusi added that, the Assembly has purchased 35 packets of roofing sheets and 200 bags of cement to start the construction of a new classroom block to help solve the challenge.
He used the opportunity to call on Philanthropist, NGO's, Organizations and individuals to come to their aid.
