CRIME :KANESHIE POLICE ARREST TWO ROBBERS AT AWUDOME ESTATE ON 25/04/2020 AROUND 6:AM A LADY WAS ON HER WAY TO WORK AND ON REACHING  ST THERESA CATHOLIC CHURCH AT AWUDOME, SUSPECTS JAMES ANNAN AND EBENEZER TORTO ON A BLUE ROYAL MOTOR BIKE WITH REGISTERATION NO M- 20- GREAT 9695 SUDDENLY STOPPED AND THE PILLION RIDDER EBENEZER TORTO PULLED A SHARP KNIFE ON HER DEMANDING FOR HER PHONE AND MONEY. IN AN ATTEMPT  TO RUN FOR HER LIFE,  SHE FELL AND SUSPECT ATTACKED HER ON THE GROUND. LUCK ELUDED THEM WHEN THE COMPLAINANT SHOUTED FOR HELP AND SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED AND BROUGHT TO THE STATION. SUSPECTS JAMES ANAN AND EBENEZER TORTO IN POLICE CUSTODY. WITH THE  BLUE ROYAL MOTOR BIKE IMPOUNDED AND SHARP KNIFE RETRIEVED. THE LADY HOWEVER SUSTAINED SOME BODILY INJURIES. THEY SHALL BE PROCESSED FOR COURT SOON,  POLICE SAID.

GCAP donates PPE's to support COVID-19 fight in North Tongu

GCAP fights Covid-19 with personal protective equipments. From left : Mr. Agyemang , Togbe and Hon. Arku Ghana Commercial Agricultural Project (GCAP) on Friday, April 24,2020  donated Personal Protective Equipments (PPE's) to help fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region. The team led by Mr. Osei Owusu Agyemang, Project Coordinator presented, Veronica buckets, nose masks, Soap and gallons of sanitisers to twenty - one (21)communities within the North Tongu District.The total amount spent on the PPEs is estimated to be 200,000 Ghana Cedis. These includes Deikope , Torgorme, Essokope, Fulakope,Fodzoku, Kassa, Avakpoe,Azargornokope, Nakpoe and many other.   Speaking to the Media,Mr. Agyemang said "the about $34 million Kpong Left Bank Irrigation Project (KLBIP) at Torgorme in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region which is estimated to create a minimum of 12,000 direct jobs yearly when complete

At least 20 feared dead in kintampo - Tamale road crash

At least 20 persons are reported dead after a Metro Mass bus and a Sprinter mini bus collided head-on at Kawampe in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Bono East Region. Reports indicate that the Metro Mass Bus which was carrying sacks of fresh pepper and about 12 passengers and heading towards Kintampo from Tamale, collided head-on with the Sprinter between Kawampe and Dawadawa at about 4.00 am Monday. According to the Assemblyman for Kawampe, Mr Mathias Taasun, the two buses caught fire after the collision and all the passengers who got trapped in the Sprinter bus are dead. "As I speak now personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service have been able to douse the fire and are removing the bodies of the deceased", he stated. He explained that only five out of the 12 passengers on the Metro Mass Transit Bus survived. "Besides the five survivors from the Metro Mass Bus, everything got burnt", he stated. More later.

Trotro driver who killed police officer declared wanted

Car owner (name withheld) of a commercial bus(Trotro) with  Registration number GR-4880-20  has confirmed to police ownership of the vehicle which was used to kill the police officer on Friday. The driver's name was given as Bonsu Osei, the police is therefore calling on the general public that, anyone with information on his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.   EARLIER    Sgt. Trotro driver kills police officer in Accra

Sgt. Moses Appiah MTTD police officer has met his untimely death on Friday morning after been ran by a 'Trotro' bus driver in Accra. The late Sgt. Moses Appiah was on duty at Madina   a suburb of Accra directing traffic and addressing traffic infractions around 9:30 am. Whiles on duty, he stop a Trotro bus driver with car registration number GR-4880-20 but the driver refused to stop, the late Sgt. Appiah then gave the driver a hot chase whilst on his Motor bike, upon arriving at Trinity Seminary near Ghana School of Languages, Ideal College  'Memmpeasem' of the East Legon enclave to apprehend the driver, the Trotro driver ran over the police officer and was pronounced dead at Police Hospital in Accra. NO CAUSE FOR ALARM ON CORONAVIRUS SUSPECTED CASES: DR. BADU SARKODIE.

Dr. Badu Sarkodie, Director Public Health of Ghana Health Service has called on Ghanaians to stay calm on suspected Coronavirus in Ghana. Speaking to Oman news on Thursday, Dr. Sarkodie disclosed that, out of four suspected cases recorded in the country so far, all prove negative. Particularly on the Chinese and Argentine nationals suspected cases at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Samples has been taken to Nuguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and the results will be ready by close of Thursday. He therefore called on Ghanaians not to fear nor panic at all, however, they should adhere to  cough and sneezing etiquette and improved personal hygiene such as regular hand-washing with soap and water. Currently, there is no cure but treatment is mainly symptomatic.
