Trotro driver who killed police officer declared wanted

Car owner (name withheld) of a commercial bus(Trotro) with  Registration number GR-4880-20  has confirmed to police ownership of the vehicle which was used to kill the police officer on Friday.


The driver's name was given as Bonsu Osei, the police is therefore calling on the general public that, anyone with information on his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
 


EARLIER 

 Sgt. Moses Appiah MTTD police officer has met his untimely death on Friday morning after been ran by a 'Trotro' bus driver in Accra. 


The late Sgt. Moses Appiah was on duty at Madina   a suburb of Accra directing traffic and addressing traffic infractions around 9:30 am.

Whiles on duty, he stop a Trotro bus driver with car registration number GR-4880-20 but the driver refused to stop, the late Sgt. Appiah then gave the driver a hot chase whilst on his Motor bike, upon arriving at Trinity Seminary near Ghana School of Languages, Ideal College  'Memmpeasem' of the East Legon enclave to apprehend the driver, the Trotro driver ran over the police officer and was pronounced dead at Police Hospital in Accra.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at Police Morgue in Accra pending autopsy.

Late Sgt. Appiah is believed to be in his 40's.

However, the Driver of the Trotro sensing danger took to his heels but his conductor (mate) has been arrested to assist investigation.

He left with a wife and seven Children.
