We will make the world know allegations levelled  against GES not true- Bonaventure.


Most Rev.John Bonaventure Kwofie, Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra has disclosed to Oman news exclusively that, haven heard from the Ministry of Education and it Agencies of the allegations levelled against them on inclusion of Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) into the Curriculum, they will also make the world know the side of Ghana Education Service ( GES).

He however bemoaned that, the ministry and it agencies delayed in coming out, hence allowing room of spread of the allegations but be as it may, it's better late than never.

He spoke to Nana Kwasi Ampofo during an inaugural ceremony of Governing Councils of Eight (8) Colleges of Education in Accra on Tuesday.



Hon.Dr.Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minister for Education,  tasked the newly Governing Councils of the colleges to carry out its mandate to drive the change agenda.

That notwithstanding, the council have to ensure that, Colleges of Education trains students to acquire the necessary professional and academic competencies for teaching in pre- tertiary institutions and non-formal education institutions.

The Board Chairpersons and it members are expected to comply with functions stated in the Colleges of Education Act, 2012(Act 847).

That is, Approve the Educational programmes developed by the academic board having regard to the mandate of the college, Oversee the internal organization of the college of education including the establishment, variation and supervision of the academic divisions, departments and faculties of the college; Prescribe the terms and conditions for the admission of persons selected for a course of study organized by the college; Institute awards, fellowships and Scholarship schemes in furtherance of the aims of the college and finally Manage the finances and fixed assets of the college and consider and approve annual estimates of income and expenditure of the college among others.

The colleges are Tamale College of Education, Holy Child, Gambaga,St.Theresa's, Mt.Mary,Kibi,St.John Bosco and Gbewaa College of Education.

NO CAUSE FOR ALARM ON CORONAVIRUS SUSPECTED CASES: DR. BADU SARKODIE.

Dr. Badu Sarkodie, Director Public Health of Ghana Health Service has called on Ghanaians to stay calm on suspected Coronavirus in Ghana. Speaking to Oman news on Thursday, Dr. Sarkodie disclosed that, out of four suspected cases recorded in the country so far, all prove negative.
