Prestea-Mpohor- Takoradi road blocked on Tuesday



Residents of communities along the Apowa-Mpohor road on Tuesday blocked road to prevent vehicular movement. The blockade, was on the road that linked Prestea Junction to Mpohor township , Takoradi and it environs,according to the residents, the exercise was embarked to put forward their grievances to authorities on the terrible nature of their road.

The residents complained, that since the President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, cut sod to commence  the construction of the project from Kejebir-Mpohor in 2018, no substantial work has been done on the said road by the contractor; JPP Construction Limited.

 According to them, the contractor has been lackadaisical towards the  project, and on  that aggravating the deplorable nature of the road.

They bemoaned, since the President cut sod for the construction of the 16 kilometre Kejebir-Mpohor road in July, 2018, JPP Construction Limited have only been able to construct gutters of few meters in length, which is not impressive' they added.

"This is just a tip of the iceberg  if government fails to fix our road" residents conclude.

SUSPECTS JAMES ANAN AND EBENEZER TORTO IN POLICE CUSTODY. WITH THE  BLUE ROYAL MOTOR BIKE IMPOUNDED AND SHARP KNIFE RETRIEVED. THE LADY HOWEVER SUSTAINED SOME BODILY INJURIES. THEY SHALL BE PROCESSED FOR COURT SOON,  POLICE SAID.

TWIFO HEMANG LOWER DENKYIRA DCE  nominee Confirmed.  President Nana Addo Dankwa -Akufo Addo nominee as the  District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District in the Central Region, Mr. Kennedy Sarpong was on  Thursday, June 13,2019. Confirmed by the Assembly Members with 78 percent endorsement out of the total votes cast at an  emergency meeting held by the Assembly. The new DCE, Hon. NO CAUSE FOR ALARM ON CORONAVIRUS SUSPECTED CASES: DR. BADU SARKODIE.

Dr. Badu Sarkodie, Director Public Health of Ghana Health Service has called on Ghanaians to stay calm on suspected Coronavirus in Ghana. Speaking to Oman news on Thursday, Dr. Sarkodie disclosed that, out of four suspected cases recorded in the country so far, all prove negative. Particularly on the Chinese and Argentine nationals suspected cases at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Samples has been taken to Nuguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and the results will be ready by close of Thursday. He therefore called on Ghanaians not to fear nor panic at all, however, they should adhere to  cough and sneezing etiquette and improved personal hygiene such as regular hand-washing with soap and water.
