GO INTO BEEKEEPING; MR.DICKSON ADVISES.

Mr.Dickson Birikorang,Executive Director Tropical Zones Industry at 'Apedwa' junction of the Abuakwa South Constituency on the Accra -Kumasi Highway in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Has disclosed to J24newsgh, that Beekeeping is a profitable endeavor for many hobbyists and professionals.

According to him, the obvious produce of bee which is honey is very marketable product and highly in demand  globally.

He explained that, Beekeeping is more profitable than crude oil because you need much capital to extract oil from crude where as you need not much capital to start up Beekeeping.

" How much is one Litre of honey and how much is one litre of Crude oil and compare the investment one will need to come out with the two products" he asked.

Therefore he has expressed interest in the One District One Factory initiative to produce more honey and use it for beverages.

That notwithstanding, Beeswax can be converted into many different products including candles, soap and lip balm.

More so, the pollen granules are cited by many health food enthusiasts as a " super food" that can boost immunity and provide other health-related benefits such as minimizing seasonal allergies, treating osteoporosis and acting as an antioxidant.

According to Mr. Birikorang, they are looking forward to employ about four- hundred people for the project, two-hundred for the beekeeping and two-hundred for the factory works.

He concluded by calling on authorities in Ghana to pay much attention to beekeeping since is a profitable business venture.
