ALEX MENSAH, MAAME TIWAA AND OTHERS PROMOTED- GHANA POLICE SERVICE

President of the Republic of Ghana H:E Nana Addo Dankwa- Akufo Addo has Upon recommendation of the Police Council promoted six Deputy Commissioners of Police .

The Promotions take effect from April 1,2019.

The newly promoted commissioners and Deputy Commanders of the police are.

COP/Mr. George Tuffuor Director General/ Finance, COP/Mr.Alexander Amponsah Asiamah Director General/ Services, COP/Mr.Alphonse Adu Amankwa/ Regional Commander E/R,COP/ Mr.George Alex Mensah Director General / Operations, COP/Mr. Timothy Yoosa Bonga/ Regional Commander N/R,
COP/Mrs.Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo- Danquah Director General/ CID,DCOP/Mr.Francis Aboagye Nyarko/Director General Private Security Operations, DCOP/ Mr.Felix Fosu Agyemang / Deputy Regional Commander N/R and DCOP/Mr.Ernest Kwabena Owusu/Deputy Regional Commander Tema.

Two other officers have also been promoted by the police council to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of police, one officer to the rank of chief Supritendent of Police and Eight officers to the rank of superintendent of police.

NO CAUSE FOR ALARM ON CORONAVIRUS SUSPECTED CASES: DR. BADU SARKODIE.

Dr. Badu Sarkodie, Director Public Health of Ghana Health Service has called on Ghanaians to stay calm on suspected Coronavirus in Ghana. Speaking to Oman news on Thursday, Dr. Sarkodie disclosed that, out of four suspected cases recorded in the country so far, all prove negative. Particularly on the Chinese and Argentine nationals suspected cases at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Samples has been taken to Nuguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and the results will be ready by close of Thursday. He therefore called on Ghanaians not to fear nor panic at all, however, they should adhere to  cough and sneezing etiquette and improved personal hygiene such as regular hand-washing with soap and water. Currently, there is no cure but treatment is mainly symptomatic. At least 20 feared dead in kintampo - Tamale road crash

At least 20 persons are reported dead after a Metro Mass bus and a Sprinter mini bus collided head-on at Kawampe in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Bono East Region. Reports indicate that the Metro Mass Bus which was carrying sacks of fresh pepper and about 12 passengers and heading towards Kintampo from Tamale, collided head-on with the Sprinter between Kawampe and Dawadawa at about 4.00 am Monday. According to the Assemblyman for Kawampe, Mr Mathias Taasun, the two buses caught fire after the collision and all the passengers who got trapped in the Sprinter bus are dead. "As I speak now personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service have been able to douse the fire and are removing the bodies of the deceased", he stated. He explained that only five out of the 12 passengers on the Metro Mass Transit Bus survived. "Besides the five survivors from the Metro Mass Bus, everything got burnt", he stated. More later.
