NDC SHOOTING: TWO OUT OF THE THREE STANDING TRIAL TO HIT THE SACK IN PRISON CUSTODY.


Two out of the three suspects standing trial for alleged murder of Abdul Wasihu Iddris at the National Democratic Congress party office in the Ashanti region of Ghana ,have been transferred from police cell to prison custody.
The two – 40-year-old Dauda Ibrahim alias Wayo and  Abdul Ganiu, 37 – were transferred on the orders of the Asokwa District Court on Wednesday.
 Samuel Agyin  was exempted to remain in police custody instead of prisons because of his health condition status.
Prosecutor ACP Okyere Darko told the court docket is still with the Attorney General’s office for further advice.


There was heavy police presence in court today.

The court presided over by His Worship Mr Abass Mohammed consequently adjourned the case to April 10, 2019.
The three have been charged with abetment of murder.
Petition
Meanwhile, Lawyer for the accused persons has petitioned the Inspector General of Police following chaos that broke out at the court.
Lawyer Amankwah who has been receiving death threats from unknown sources say his security cannot be guaranteed.
While reiterating his clients’ innocence, he called on the police to fast track processes to allow a smooth trial.
Background
Wasihu was shot and killed at the NDC Ashanti Regional office late last month following a bloody clash between rival youth groups.
Three out of 12 persons are standing trial over the development.
They were denied bail at the Asokwa Magistrate Court when they made their first appearance.
