GHANAIANS TALK TOO MUCH WITHOUT ANY ACTION; LEBANESE TO EMPLOYEE WHO HAD ACCIDENT -ON THE JOB- WHILES WORKING.

Kontoh Lucas, 33 a Ghanaian employee at NASIR  Block Factory Ltd. located on the Kwabenya -- Pokuase road in the Greater Accra Region- was involved in an accident on May 1, 2018, which was a national public holiday worldwide; popularly referred to as "Labour Day or International workers Day". Whilst all workers were observing the day with leisure, Lucas was busy at work, supplying cement blocks to  customers around Tema together with 6 others. As fate may have it, their vehicle was involved in a fatal accident leading to the death of some of his colleagues.  Lucas survived with serious
injuries that resulted in the dysfunctioning of some parts of his body.
According to Lucas, he spent about five months at 37 Military Hospital in Accra for treatment.

However, after paying the hospital bills by his employer (Nasir Block Factory Ltd), abandoned Lucas who is unable to work again. Lucas has a wife and two children, who are now surviving on benevolence.

To add insult to injury,  Lucas, alleged, his immediate boss at Nasir  Block Factory, purported to be a Lebanese,  told him that; " Ghanaians talk too much without action so there's nothing they can do to him". This was a reaction to Lucas' demand for support from the employers.

Lucas lamented, the development has worsened his financial condition to the point where he is unable to take care of himself and the family.
He's therefore appealing to Non-Governmental Organizations , Civil Society Organizations,
Government, Philanthropist for support. He is also calling on Human Right and Labour Lawyers to assist him claim some compensation.

Wife of the victim, Charity Ofori , said; they can hardly feed their children. She added that they lived in a Kiosk as care takers for an  uncompleted building at Pokuase ACP but the owners have served them notice of eviction since they are ready to develop the place.
" we have no where to go with our children, I can't help it, she said sobbing.
Charity added that,  she used to nursed wounds that sometimes produce worms with very unpleasant smell from the husband few months ago.

The Nasir Block Factory Ltd welcomed the news team warmly.  However, upon hearing our mission, the atmosphere changed.
Nasir eventually agreed to talk to us but did not want it recorded. He then admitted the victim's story but insisted they have spent much on him , by paying his hospital bills so he does not have anything to do with him again. Nasir added though that they are waiting for their  insurance claim out of which Lucas might get a token. This is to say that ,until they hear from his insurers disabled Lucas would have to look up to the skies for the survival of his family.
